Phyllis Muthoni

Mrs Muthoni Phyllis has a warm and engaging interest in people and has a heart especially for the young – looking to impact their lives as they interact in different learning environments. She lives in the suburbs of Nairobi and has taught for more than thirty years. She has a Master of Arts and also a Diploma in teaching technical subjects. She has taught at all levels from primary to university level of learners. She also Pastors part time at a local church and is mainly involved in the teaching aspect of the ministry. She is passionate about African languages and especially how they help to build up confidence and a deep sense of identity. This was deeply stirred by watching children growing up in urban settings who do not speak or understand their African languages. Her own children are fluent in two African languages. In her spare time she enjoys outdoors – planting trees and flowers and also reads books, embroiders, knits and  bakes bread.
